Farewell to the mists of early dawn
That rolled from the hills on each new morn
Farewell to the crickets that chirped in the night
The sand flies, the mossies and wee things that bite

Farewell to the hoocheys and bashas so neat.
Farewell to the sandals we wore on our feet
Farewell to the boots that always were wet
Farewell to the OG's all covered in sweat

Farewell to the choppers that brought in our mail
Oft were they late which caused many a wail
Farewell to the Hastings which dropped in our gear
Why was the maldrop always our beer?

Farewell to Pang Amo a jewel in this land
Our home that was fashioned by sweat and by hand
This little Scotland on Sarawak's soil
A tribute to us and to all of our toil

Farewell to the recces and local patrols
Farewell to the tracks all pitted with holes
Farewell to the Kampongs and all their stench
To give up all this will not cause a wrench
