The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's)

'Sans Peur'       Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders red and white dicing       'Ne Obliviscaris'

(British Guiana Style)

It was Admin check for the Company
And old Hendy was talking fast.
Old Daisy King was hanging
From the Signals highest mast.
The Major, in a flat spin,
Was trying to check our kit:
" Big Smudger " roaring round the lines,
McKenzie in a fit.
McAnaney had his Mortars
Mixed up with L.A.C.,
While Captain Paul was worrying
Over things he couldn't see.
Mr. Howman rushing out,
Dived into the Demerara,
His last words, before he drowned, were
" I escaped that flippin' barber."
Young Broon, the clerk, was absent;
The files and orders, too,
And to make things really worse
He'd stole the Office brew.
The machine-gun kit was rusty,
The Pioneers-Oh! What hell!
Yet all through this great--confusion
The- Padre tolled his bell.
Peffers, broken-hearted,
Kept sobbing for poor old "S,"
Then ran off to start a session
Down at the sergeants' mess;
As Martin, Milton, Cpl. Lloyd,
Moaned, this is worse than Banzia Boyd.
The C.O. then recovered said,
" I am afraid it's true;
Oh! Bonnie, Bonnie Scotland,
What I'm suffering for you."
