Disbanding a Scottish Regiment is again on the cards,
before the Government do this they should think very hard.
The Argylls again are the ones mentioned,
but really, if this is their main intention,
they should look at the honours this Regiment gained,
then they might even think again.
A Regiment like this should be a national treasure,
whose duty to the nation you just can't measure.

In World War Two they fought so well
the Führer named them 'the ladies from hell'.
They were never ones to shirk from a fight,
for they knew what they fought for was right.
The Allies were glad they were on their side,
for if they had been the enemy it would have been a hard ride.
We of Scottish birth would fight every yard,
to keep the Argyll name we would play every card.

The Government have done enough to deplete our forces,
amalgamating some, from whatever the sources.
The plea is, really, "Leave the Argylls alone,
and leave Stirling as their permanent home!"
So think before you disband this front line division,
the name means a lot to Scottish tradition.
Keeping the name alive would really be fine,
you can't possibly disband, "THE THIN RED LINE...."
