Stirling Castle, Balaklava platoon practicing field craft around Nether Bailey. Everything pukka; dead quite; no voices; hand signals only. Thunder flashes go off. Young recruit jumps up and screams, 'Aaahhh! They got me boys! Carry-on without me!' Helpless laughter ensues.
Apoplectic Corporal 'Scouse' Cannon doubles young recalcitrant to the guard room for a weekend stay!
